We have an open mic on the second Friday of every month from 8:00-8:45 p.m. at the Grounds and Sounds Café (at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship at Stony Brook, 380 Nicolls Road, E. Setauket, NY).  Tickets for the main performer are generally $12.50, but open mic performers get in free.

Thank God There's Still Creative People Who Want To Share Real Talent That Falls Through The Cracks!

smileI Need to express my heartfelt excitement, of being able to again perform live on stage! My love for singing can finally be expressed again! Being a single Mom; giving my amazing 14 yr. old daughter the life she deserves to thrive positively on a 24/7 schedule (In these times its hard and rare to do that, as well as exhausting), has taken up my full focus in life. I have put my needs on hold all this time,  I need to find my self again, but I'm proud, blessed, and extremely lucky that she THRIVES in her full life! So my sacrifices of my own needs was worth every moment! Now I NEED to go back to my lifelong passions for the crafts; singing, acting, and dancing!!!. A "life time ago" I professionally fulfilled my dreams( definately will again!), and continued performing over the years, before I had my daughter. That passion and love in your soul never dies. Thank You to all of these clubs and hosts for creating these nights for all of us! I really thought this was only still thriving in NYC! Great list Debbie but I think some of the open mics on your list are no longer around.  Fortunately, my Monday Open Mic at Bartini Bar in Babylon is alive and well!
