HEY ALL!


I JUST WANT TO LET EVERYONE KNOW THAT THE OPEN MIC NIGHT AT THE CAFE MOJO IN WEST ISLIP HAS ENDED.  IT WAS A GREAT RUN BUT THE OWNERS ARE GOING IN ANOTHER DIRECTION.  THANKS TO ALL WHO SUPPORTED THIS NIGHT.


OUR NEW OPEN MIC NIGHT IS EVERY WEDNESDAY AT A-D THE BAR (FORMERLY THE ARTFUL DODGER) IN HUNTINGTON.  SIGN UP IS AT 8:30.  MUSIC STARTS AT 9:00.  NO COVER CHARGE.  THE FORMAT IS 3 SONGS OR 15 MINUTES.  THE PLACE IS 30 NEW STREET, HUNTINGTON.  biggrin.gif

We did it again!!! TONIGHT WAS AMAZING!  These are by far the best OPEN MIC NIGHTS around.  If you are in the vicinity, or even if you're not, check it out.  The performances were amazing and the night was fun from start to finish.  Its really easy.  Just show up, sign up and play.  You will have a tremendous time.  There is never a cover charge!  We want to hear you play!  The musicians support each other and the friendships we have made are incredible!


This is wht an OPEN MIC IS SUPPOSED TO BE!!!!!!yawn.gif

these are great nights, i've played often at Daves open mikes both solo and with other musicians, its a cool format and everyone gets a chance to do their own thing, if you havent been to one, you need to come on down to either place

This weekend had many monster gigs, starting with TOO HIP FOR THE ROOM, KEVIN MAHONEY, CHRISTINE SWEENEY, JOHN CAPPE, ROB MIEGEL AND BROTHERS AT LODGE, AND of course DAVE AND MAGGE DREW!!! These all came from showing up at the OPEN MIC NIGHTS at BARTINI's and THE MOJO!  Come to the OPEN MIC NIGHT and you will have a chance to play a weekend PAYING GIG!!!!yawn.gif

As I have said, we offer paying gigs to the performers who come down and support the open mic nights.  Friday, 2/17 is one of those nights.  BARTINI BAR in Babylon will feature:  Kevin Mahoney, Dave and Magge, and TOO HIP FOR THE ROOM!!  These musicians have come down and played at the OPEN MIC nights and are now doing a paying weekend gig!  Get down there and check them out!!!

No other OPEN MIC offers this!

We have gigs all over the place and we are expanding!  We need musicians to play some cool stuff and we have places for them to play!  Check out my website and see all the stuff we have going on.  We have club owners show up just to find some musicians to play at their joints.  Come to Bartini's and talk to me about it.

HEY EVERYONE!!!

My name is Dave Drew and I host 2 Open Mic Nights each week!  Every Monday we are at Bartini Bar in Babylon, 124 North Carl Ave. 631-422-3286.

Every Thursday we are at THE CAFE MOJO in West Islip, 191 Higbie lane, 631-661-2233.

Both nights have sign up around 8:00.  Music starts about 8:30.  The format is 3 songs / 15 minutes.  We welcome original music as well as covers.  (I do a little of both).  I begin each night with 3 songs and then we get to the list.  The atmosphere is friendly and supportive, plus each place offers weekend gigs to any performer who plays cool stuff and supports the night and the other musicians. (Hey, we gotta stick together!).  There is no cover charge (I hate places that make you pay to play your music) and it has become a great forum to meet other musicians and friends as well!  Please check it out!
